Following the band's recent concert to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West, at which we were proud to raise the fantastic sum of £538.72, the band have their next gig this Sunday, 14th June.
 

As part of "Vivary Park - Music at the Bandstand", we will be back playing in the beautiful Vivary Park, Upper High St, Taunton TA1 3SX, from 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm, in the historic bandstand and will be featuring a range of different genres for all to enjoy!  This is a free concert organized by Taunton Town Council.

Bring the sunshine and a deck chair, sit back and relax with Wellington Silver Band! 
 

Or why not make an afternoon of it?  Come earlier and you can also enjoy the large children’s adventure play area, tree trail, public loos with disabled facilities, tennis courts (pay and play), café (Vivary Golf Club), Vivary Adventure and High Ropes Centre, pay and play golf course, mini golf; details are available from Everyone Active.  The bowling green and indoor rinks are maintained by Taunton Bowling Club, for details please call 01823 253899.

Wellington Silver Band Home

With Colin Dance now appointed as our MD and our other Bb bass leaving due to work commitments, we have openings for two Bb basses.  We are also looking for a tuned percussionist.  Other brass players are welcome.  (To visit our facebook page right click on the hyperlink on the poster, then click open hyperlink.) 

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings in our own band building (Wellington TA21 8AA) from 7.30pm until 9.45pm.  We also have a beginners group and an intermediate band, who rehearse on Thursdays (Beginners 6.00 pm – 6.30 pm & Intermediates 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm).

Wellington Band welcomes new Musical Director.
 

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Colin G Dance as our new MD.

Colin has a wealth of experience both as a player & MD/Conductor.

He is a well known composer/arranger of music for Brass Bands with his latest musical creations published by the Obrasso Music Company of Switzerland.

 

Colin has a 1st Class BA (Hons) Degree in composition, arrangement, conducting and performance (Sheffield University) and trained on arranging music under the well known brass band composer/arranger Alan Fernie.

 

The band feels very fortunate to have recruited such a talented person from the band world and we are looking forward to the development of our playing, as well as performing at our various gigs under his baton.
